As a reward for winning the Scottish Boys Clubs Cup at Dens Park, Dundee, last night, the St Columba Boys Club U/15 team are being taken to Hampden Park, Glasgow, on Saturday to see the Scottish Cup Final between Rangers and Celtic.
One of the stars of last night’s game was forward Graeme Payne, and he has signed an ‘S’ form for Dundee United.
Graeme, brother of Arbroath’s Kenny, is a tricky ball player.
He was in the Kirkton High School team which won the Dundee United Cup at Tannadice last week when they beat Stobswell.
St Columba defender John McPhail, also a team-mate of Payne’s at Kirkton High School, has already put pen to paper on an ‘S’ form for Dundee United.
Another cutting, from two days later, revealed . . .
Another of Dundee St Columba Boys Club U/15 Scottish Cup-winning team has been fixed up by a senior club.
Steve Mellon, the club’s hard-working midfield man, has been fixed up on an ‘S’ form by Dundee United.
