Former Dundee United defender Bilel Mohsni will not be returning to Tannadice despite an attempt from Csaba Laszlo.
The Terrors’ boss has confirmed he was close to bringing for ex Rangers man back for a second spell but was thwarted by a late offer from the top flight in Turkey.
He said: “Mohsni will not come back, this now is clear. Last week it was very close that he would come back but now he decided to fly to Turkey and to sign a contract there.”
The 31-year-old featured 10 times in the Championship for United last season netting three goals.
He became a popular figure with the Arabs and seemed to be keen on a move back.
Csaba added: “It was our target to bring Mohsni back and he was also very pleased, but in the last moment he got an approach from the Turkish Premier League, so it is understandable he turned down our offer.”
United have also been linked to Algerian defender Rachid Bouhenna but Csaba described that as no more than a rumour.
