Biker dies after horror crash with two cars closes main Tayside road for five hours

A motorcyclist has been killed following a horror road crash involving two cars.

Emergency services were called out at around 2.45pm on Thursday to attend the incident on the A93 at Guildtown, six miles north of Perth.

A male driving a motorbike, 56, died after police said he was left “seriously injured”. It is understood he collided with two cars on the road.

A police statement said: “Police Scotland can confirm that, sadly, a 56 year old man has died following the road traffic collision on the A93 near Guildtown yesterday.

“His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

The man, believed to be from the Kennoway area, was airlifted by air ambulance but police confirmed that he later died.

Immediately following the incident, a police spokesman said: “One person is seriously injured.

“The road is likely to be closed for some time.”

The Tele understands the other people involved in the crash escaped without injury.
