Dozens of local schools have announced they will be closed tomorrow due to the cold weather.
Schools in Perth and Kinross, Fife and Angus will remain closed tomorrow as the “Beast from the East” takes hold of the UK after moving in from Siberia.
A red warning has been issued by the Met Office for Tayside and Fife, which will be in effect until 10am tomorrow.
Angus Council has confirmed 17 schools will stay closed and no school transport will run on Thursday.
The following Angus Council primary schools will be closed: Aberlemno, Airlie, Arbirlot, Birkhill, Carmyllie, Eassie, Inverarity, Isla, Letham, Mattocks, Monikie, Murroes, Newbigging, Newtyle, Strathmartine, Tannadice and Tealing primary schools.
The local authority said it will be “monitoring” the situation into the evening.
Fife Council and Perth and Kinross Council say all of their schools will remain closed on Thursday.
However, Dundee City Council has not declared if all schools will remain open tomorrow as they were today.
