Dundee United’s draw at Cappielow against Morton on Saturday could’ve been seen as two points dropped but I see it as a point gained given the run of form the ’Ton were in.
It brought to an end United’s run of wins but playing down in Greenock is never easy and I’m pretty sure ex-Dundee manager Jim Duffy will have had his team fired up for that encounter, too.
There won’t be many teams picking up points when they visit Morton and, in the end, a draw was probably the right result for both.
It did allow Hibs to extend their lead but, at this stage, I wouldn’t look too much into it.
The Tangerines have a free weekend as they are not involved in the Scottish Cup but they have a cracking game to look forward to when they come back.
Hibs at home on a Friday night will show how far the Terrors have actually come in a short space of time.
No doubt Ray McKinnon will be making sure his boys are ready for that.
