Recently-departed Dundee winger Randy Wolters will find out later today if he needs an operation following a knee injury sustained in training.
The former Dark Blues man looks set to be sidelined until the winter break after a serious injury in NEC training.
The 28-year-old left Dens Park in July looking for a fresh start and joined the Dutch second tier side after a frustrating spell under Neil McCann.
However, Wolters has suffered yet more bad luck after damaging his right knee and expects to be out for about four months.
He said: “I was enjoying myself, was on form and then this happened. Approximately four months before the recovery. I hope to be back on the field soon.”
Wolters featured 16 times for Dundee after joining last year on a two-year deal.
He travelled with The Dee on their preseason trip to Portugal but the two parties came to a mutual agreement to part ways allowing Wolters to return to his homeland.
