Partick Thistle struck three times in the final six minutes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against a hapless Dundee.
The home side were unchanged from the 2-0 victory over Arbroath a fortnight ago and were looking to win back-to-back in the Championship for the first time this season as they welcomed Ian McCall’s side to Dens.
The Dark Blues started well with Kane Hemmings having an effort ruled out for offside on seven minutes among numerous other chances.
It was McGowan, however, who did open the scoring on 25 minutes when he picked up on a Declan McDaid through ball in the box and slotted beyond the on-rushing Scott Fox in the Partick goal.
It looked like the Dee would hold for a crucial three points that would tighten things up at the top of the table but Partick came alive with five minutes to go.
Former Dark Blues hitman Kenny Miller levelled it for the Jags, before half-time substitutes Shea Gordon and Lewis Mansell capitalised on calamitous defending on 89 and 91 minutes to seal a 3-1 win.
