Home Scotland has apologised to residents who were left without a lift over Christmas.

Tenants at Blackness Court Sheltered Housing Complex claimed they were unable to leave the building due to the fault.

Sandra Brydon, head of service delivery at Home Scotland, said: “We’d like to apologise to residents for the issues they have faced with the lift in Blackness Court.

“Our contractor had identified essential work that required the lift to be taken out of service temporarily.

“Unfortunately, this maintenance fell during the Christmas break, and a new part was required which meant the lift repairs took longer than usual.

“We currently have a lift replacement programme under way.”
