A glittering awards ceremony has honoured Dundee’s pubs and clubs.
The STAR awards, held at Dundee’s Apex Hotel, recognises people who work within the licenced trade.
The event was organised by Morag Beattie, co-ordinator of the Duncan (Dundee Co-ordinated Anti-Crime Network) initiative, with the Evening Telegraph and Wave 102 sponsoring the event.
In total, £2,497 was raised through the event for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal charity.
Winners on the night were the Speedwell Tavern, which won the Wave 102 Best Community Premises.
The Grosvenor Casino, Tickety Boo’s and Clarks on Lindsay Street all shared the Preventing Crime and Disorder Award.
Tickety Boo’s won the Wave 102 Best City Centre Premises and the Evening Telegraph’s Best Atmosphere Award, while Nikki Loftus of Tickety’s won the Tele’s Bar Personality of the Year. Klozet Bar’s staff came home with the Wave 102 Community Spirit Award, the Disability and Equality Awareness Award and the Protecting and Improving Public Health Award.
Clarks on Lindsay Street collected the Wave 102 award for Best Atmosphere and the Tele award for Best City Centre Premises.
The Evening Telegraph’s Best Community Premises was the Logie Club.
As well as sharing the Preventing Crime and Disorder Award, the Grosvenor Casino won the Best Training Award, the Community Spirit Award and the Disability and Securing Public Safety Award.
The Barrels picked up the Protecting Children From Harm Award.
Individual winners included Angus Welsh, who won the Shooting Star Award for Loyalty and Commitment to the Night Time Economy, and Sarah Hill of the Nether Inn was the Wave 102 Bar Personality of the Year winner.
Jonathan Stewart, owner of the Royal Arch in Broughty Ferry, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 42 years in the licenced trade.
Morag said: “It was a great night. There were just short of 300 people there and the marquee was amazing. It’s a great way to honour all the great work that goes on in the fantastic pubs and clubs of Dundee.”
