The Oor Wullie Bucket Trail really captures what it means to show community spirit.
Organised with children’s charity the ARCHIE Foundation, the project took one of Dundee’s very own local heroes, partnered him with design talent from across Tayside and beyond, and raised £883,000 for two new kids’ operating theatres at Tayside Children’s Hospital — a community focused twist on a life-changing charity drive. Cassie Thompson, director of fundraising at ARCHIE, said: “It’s wonderful to have the recognition tonight. We’ve made incredible memories with the team who created this unforgettable event.”
- The Dundee Local Committee for Cancer Research UK has spent more than 30 years raising in excess of £1 million, some members driven by personal losses.
