Fire service working to reduce false alarm call-outs

Students burning toast in halls of residences and fire alarms triggered in science laboratories have contributed to St Andrews University being responsible for the highest rate of false alarm call-outs by the fire service in Fife, according to a senior fire officer.

Emergency services rushed to a car fire in Fife last night. Police and one fire crew were called out to Evans Business Centre in Kirkcaldy just before 11.20pm. The blaze, which happened out in the open, was extinguished with two hose reel jets. No-one was injured.

Crash closes A92 carriageway in Kirkcaldy

Part of the A92 in Fife has been closed because of an accident. The two-car crash has shut part of the eastbound carriageway in Kirkcaldy West. An ambulance is on the way although it is unclear whether there are any injuries.
