A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a “much-loved dad, brother and fiance”.
Officers were called to Riverside Road in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, after 2am on Friday where they found a man injured in a house.
Emergency services attended and the 23-year-old was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he later died.
He has now been named as William Wardrop from the town.
In a statement his family said: “William was a much loved dad, brother and fiance who will be sadly missed by us all.
“He will remain forever in our hearts.”
The 23-year-old man who was arrested and charged is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective Inspector Frank Travers said: “I would like to thank members of the community for their co-operation and assistance during this investigation.”
