A police officer has suffered serious injuries after a crash in Fife.
The two-vehicle collision took place on the A92 near Cowdenbeath at around 1.40pm on Thursday.
Police Scotland said a force vehicle had been stationary when it was struck by a “transporter”.
The officer had been assisting another vehicle which had stopped at the time of the incident.
He was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
The route was closed westbound from Crossgates to Cowdenbeath following the two-vehicle collision.
Diversions were place and urged motorists to avoid the area.
