Stephen Dobbie scored a first-half hat-trick as Queen of the South thrashed Montrose 5-0 to win their Ladbrokes Championship play-off semi-final 6-2 on aggregate.
Queens will now face Raith in the play-off final following their comprehensive win, in which Dobbie took his goal tally to 43 for the season – a new club record.
Queens went into the second leg trailing 2-1 but Dobbie opened the scoring in the 11th minute from close range after some poor defending to get his side on level terms.
Lyndon Dykes chipped Allan Fleming to put the hosts ahead in the tie in the 23rd minute before Dobbie notched again five minutes later for a 3-0 lead.
Montrose were unable to clear the ball and Michael Doyle’s strike ended up in the net just after the half-hour mark as Queens turned the tie around completely.
Dobbie completed his hat-trick five minutes before half-time when he fired the ball into the bottom corner.
