Morton gave their survival hopes a major boost as a flying start to the second half earned them a 2-0 win at Ladbrokes Championship relegation rivals Falkirk.
Goals from Greg Kiltie and Charlie Telfer moved Morton five points clear of their opponents, whose own drop fears increased as they slumped to the bottom of the table.
Kiltie opened the scoring in the 47th minute, firing in his fourth goal in five games after Telfer’s cut-back had deflected into his path.
And he turned provider seven minutes later, racing on to a ball over the top and playing it across goal for Telfer to slide home.
Victory lifted the visitors up to sixth place, but Falkirk slipped into the automatic relegation spot, two points behind second-bottom Partick Thistle.
