Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found with gunshot wounds in a London cemetery, Scotland Yard said.
The 22-year-old was found in Tottenham Cemetery in the early hours of Monday, officers said.
Armed police, officers from the National Police Air Service and paramedics attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are yet to make an arrest or establish a motive for the attack, which prompted the 99th homicide investigation in the capital this year.
Officers were called to the murder scene, which lies a short walk from the north London football club’s under-construction ground, shortly before 8am.
The victim’s next-of-kin have been informed, but formal identification and a post-mortem examination are yet to take place.
Detective Inspector Simon Stancombe urged witnesses to get in touch, and added: “At this early stage of the investigation, we are keeping an open mind to the motive of this attack.”
Witnesses can call police on 0208 358 0300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
