A lifeboat crew from Broughty Ferry were called out to assist a struggling dingy in the Tay.
The RNLI crew was alerted to the boat in the water at 5.50pm yesterday evening.
It is understood the mast of the small sailing dingy had collapsed just off Wormit.
The lifeboat team were able to safely tow the dingy to the coast and the people who required assistance were not in any danger.
A spokeswoman from HM Coastguard who received the call said: “We received a call to assist a small sailing dingy in the River Tay near Wormit.
“The dingy’s mast collapsed and a crew from the Broughty Ferry RNLI were able to tow the dingy to safety.”
