Police have named the pedestrian who was killed in a collision with a lorry on the A90 on Wednesday.
Charles Kelly, 55, of Montrose, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash close to Petterden.
The incident saw the northbound carriageway closed for several hours while officers carried out an investigation.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Division on 101.
“As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
