The Tay Road Bridge was closed for nearly an hour in the early hours of today after concerns were raised for a man.
The police were alerted to the incident just after 4am.
A coastguard team was also called out.
The man was safely taken off the bridge at about 5am.
The Broughty Ferry lifeboat was launched as well in case its services were required.
Traffic was held up at the bridge as the emergency services dealt with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed that officers had been called to the bridge following reports if concern for a man.
The spokeswoman added: “There was an incident on the bridge at 4.10am.
“The bridge was closed till about 5am while we were dealing with a man on the bridge.
“The man was spoken to by police and taken off the bridge.
“He wasn’t suffering from any injuries.”
