Dundee finished up their short pre-season with a feisty draw at Alloa Athletic’s Indodrill Stadium.
In an ill-tempered affair, which saw Darren O’Dea clash with home fans on numerous occasions and Jim Goodwin throw his weight around, the Dark Blues took the lead after just 10 minutes.
Debutant, and former Alloa attacking midfielder, Michael Duffy, signed on a season long loan from Celtic yesterday, skipped past one man on the edge of the area before slotting home into the bottom right-hand corner.
The Wasps were level less than 10 minutes later when veteran Goodwin got on the end of a floated Jordan Kirkpatrick free-kick. While it was a decent ball and a neat finish, it was a poor one to concede for the Dark Blues who gave the former St Mirren man far too much time and space.
And barring a blocked Duffy effort on goal, and a Danny Williams strike which was beaten away Athletic keeper Neil Parry, the Dark Blues failed to trouble the scorers thereafter, with Alloa arguably finishing the stronger of the two.
Dundee now head off to Obertraun, Austria, for a warm weather training camp before starting up their competitive games against East Fife in the first round of the League Cup on Saturday, July 16.
