One man has died after a six-vehicle crash on a Tayside road today.
Two other males were taken to hospital as a result of the incident, which happened just before 8am following the smash on the A93, near to Beech Hedge.
The Perth to Blairgowrie road has been closed off by police, while the incident is being dealt with.
It’s understood the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance was called for but could not attend due to the poor weather.
A police officer at the scene confirmed the fatality.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters freed one casualty from a vehicle and was handed into the care of paramedics.
“There are other casualties but we were just involved in freeing one from the vehicle.
“We attendanded along with police and the ambulance service.”
A short statement from Police Scotland read: “Police Scotland is currently in attendance at road traffic collision on A93 Perth to Blairgowrie. The road is currently closed.”
The condition of the two men who were taken to hospital is not yet known.
