A Tayside school has received a hoax phonecall threat on a day schools across the country have been evacuated following similar calls.
Perth High School, on the city’s Oakbank Road, received the call this morning.
Schools in the central belt of the country and in the west were evacuated as a ‘precautionary measure’. However, Perth and Kinross Council issued a statement saying that the decision was taken not to evacuate the school.

We can confirm that Perth High School received a hoax threat this morning. The school hasn’t been evacuated. Perth…
Police Scotland has moved to reassure parents and the public, stating that the threats are ‘not credible’.
The exact nature of the threats has not been released.

Perth High appears to have been the only school in Tayside to have received the malicious call.
