Defender Thomas Konrad is struggling with an illness that could bring his Dundee career to a premature end.
The 26-year-old German is rated as touch and go for Wednesday’s penultimate game of the season with Kilmarnock, and the weekend campaign closer at Inverness.
With his contract running out, and no offer on the table to renew, the problem could well spell the end of Konrad at Dens Park.
The centre-back, who has made 69 appearances for Dundee since signing on a free in 2014, is likely to move back to his homeland this summer, should, as expected, no new deal be offered.
He is understood to have concrete deals on the table from a host of Bundesliga 2 clubs, as well as some interest from an unknown English League Two side.
