Dundee United are believed to have an interest in securing the services of Airdrie goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson.
The Tannadice side placed a bid for the 18-year-old on Friday, a day before their Scottish Cup meeting.
However, the teen stopper showed no signs of nerves putting in a man-of-the-match display in the 1-0 defeat. The only goal coming from an unstoppable free-kick from Blair Spittal towards the end of the game.
Airdrie boss Eddie Wolecki Black confirmed post-match that a full-time side had placed an offer but stopped short of confirming it was the Tangerines.
United goalkeeper coach Stuart Garden looked after Ferguson while on the staff at the Excelsior under former manager Gary Bollan.
