Members of the public are being warned not to approach a runaway prisoner who was last seen in Dundee.
Serial armed robber William Carlin, 52, failed to return to Castle Huntly open prison following a period of leave.
Carlin, who was on temporary release, was last seen in the area of Kings Cross Hospital, Dundee, at around 9am on Thursday.
The absconder is described as being five feet 11 inches tall, of slim build, with short brown or grey hair and blue/grey eyes.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Carlin has connections to the Ayrshire area.
“If seen, members of the public should not approach him and should contact Police Scotland on 101.
“Anyone wishing to provide information anonymously can do so through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
