Dundee boss Paul Hartley has criticised his players for an “unacceptable” and “embarrassing” show at Celtic Park.
The Dark Blues may have been hammered 6-0 by the Premiership champions but the scoreline was a touch kind on Paul’s players, who were just not at the races from
minute one on Sunday afternoon.
And Paul accepts that what his players served up against the Hoops was just not up to scratch.
He said: “It was just not acceptable.
“We are embarrassed by the performance.
“It was a very poor performance. We just had a really bad day.
“Overall we were outclassed. It’s as simple as that.”
If the truth be told Dundee had goalie Scott Bain to thank for keeping the scoreline remotely respectable.
“We had one performer — the goalkeeper — we had 10 who were off it,” said Paul.
“If it wasn’t for our goalkeeper it could have been a lot more.
“He’s an outstanding goalkeeper but we gave him far too much to do.
“We were just off it all over the park. I don’t know if we showed fear but we knew when Celtic have been criticised that they would have a reaction. When you come here you have got to make sure you stay in the game as long as you can. We just didn’t do anything like that. We were really poor.”
