St Johnstone defender Dave Mackay could make his top-team return against Dundee at Dens Park.
And he could be joined by Chris Millar and Frazer Wright.
However, David Wotherspoon, taken off against Ross County because of an ankle injury, may miss out.
Mackay has been out of first-team action since undergoing hip surgery at the end of last season and Millar has been missing recently with a groin injury. Wright missed the midweek draw at home against Ross County.
Mackay, who played 45 minutes of the U/20 win at Partick last week, has trained OK, as has Millar.
Wotherspoon will be monitored and, like the rest, be given every chance of proving his fitness.
Steven Anderson is still recovering from a facial injury sustained in the Europa League against Alashkert. It’s likely to be another month before he’s back.
Meanwhile, Murray Davidson is determined Saints get their first league win of the season.
“Dundee-St Johnstone games are good not only for the players but the fans, too,” he said.
“We enjoy going to Dens and are keen to get a win.”
Murray will be coming up against former Livingston team-mate James McPake.
He spoke well of the defender who netted Dundee’s late leveller against Dundee United.
Murray said: “James is a great lad, a top player.
“He was one of a number of good players I played alongside at Livingston, Graham Dorrans, Robert Snodgrass and Leigh Griffiths being others.
“However, I am looking to get the better of him.”
