Calvin Colquhoun may get start for Dundee

Kid Calvin Colquhoun could make his first Dundee start against Aberdeen – just six months after it looked like he might not have a future at Dens Park.

The 18-year-old made his debut when he came on for half-an-hour against Celtic at the beginning of the month.

That was one of the few pluses in a 5-0 defeat and for manager Paul Hartley he’s a joined the likes of Craig Wighton and Cammy Kerr as a player with a big future.

That wasn’t always the case.

“He’s one where six months ago I think we were undecided a little bit but his attitude and the way that he’s come to prominence over the last couple of months has been great,” said Paul.

“We’ve just tied him up on a two year contract and he’s getting better and better. We’re really hopeful for the future.

“I think he was a bit shocked to even be in the squad for Celtic but I told him he would be involved in the game.

“Just to make his debut was great but he came on and did well. He was calm and he was confident.

“He is definitely in my plans.”
