St Johnstone skipper Dave Mackay will make his 246th appearance for the club in Saturday’s away game against Dundee.
The former Dundee defender has been at McDiarmid Park for six years and his signing was an inspired bit of business by then Saints team boss Derek McInnes.
Present manager Tommy Wright is also a big Mackay fan and he’s delighted that Dave has signed on to be at McDiarmid Park for two more years.
With Steven Anderson being out suspended, Mackay could partner Frazer Wright in the centre of the Perth team’s defence against Dundee but it’s more likely he will be in his usual right-back slot with Tam Scobbie the possible partner for Wright.
Meanwhile, young striker Chris Kane is again set to be in the squad.
He played for an hour of Saints’ away 0-0 Development League draw against St Mirren earlier this week. The Saints’ side was composed mostly of teenagers.
Saints’ next Development League game is at home to Dundee United next Tuesday (6pm).
