They shot to fame in the UK after performing with One Direction.
Now, Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) are coming to perform in Scotland and one lucky Tele reader has won tickets through our competition.
Super-fan Holly Redford, 14, from Claverhouse, Dundee, has been listening to the band since 2012.
The teenager plays their CD also called 5 Seconds of Summer in the family car all the time.
Dad Euan Redford secretly entered her into the competition and surprised her on Friday with the news that she’d won.
Holly, a pupil at St Paul’s Academy, said: “I’m a really big fan of the band.
“I first heard them when I went to see a One Direction concert in 2012 and they were the support act.
“I then got their CD, which is also called 5 Seconds of Summer.
“My favourite band member is Ashton Irwin, he’s the best looking one!
“The band are becoming quite famous in the UK, one of my friends likes them as well.
“My dad entered me into the competition I was really excited when he told me I’d won.”
Holly has won two tickets to go to the concert at the SSE Hydro arena in Glasgow this summer, first class train tickets to get there, two 5SOS T-shirts, £100 spending money and a stay at the four-star B&B Hilton Garden Inn.
Euan, 43, said: “Holy always puts their CD on in the car, and is always talking about the band. You never hear the end of it!
“She’s the same with One Direction.
“When I told her she’d won the tickets she thought I was joking, but then she started jumping up and down and screaming.
“Thankfully, I didn’t have to keep the secret for long. I told her on the same day that I found out, as soon as I got home from work, so I only had to keep quiet for a few hours.”
Five Seconds of Summer are a pop rock band that formed in Sydney in 2011.
The band consists of Luke Hemmings, the lead singer and guitarist, Michael Clifford on guitar and vocals, Calum Hood on bass guitar and vocals and Ashton Irwin on drums and vocals.
The pop-rock group, who cite McFly, Blink-182 and Green Day as their musical influences, were originally YouTube celebrities, posting videos of themselves covering songs from various artists in 2011.
From there, they rose to international fame when One Direction invited them on their Take Me Home Tour.
In March, they went straight in at No 1 on the Official Singles Chart with their debut UK release, She Looks So Perfect.
The band will play at the Hydro on June 1.
