Domino’s Pizza has opened for business in Arbroath.
The newly-built outlet on Condor Drive employs 20 full and part-time staff, with plans to add to that number over the next month or so.
It is the third shop in the Tayside area to be run by franchisee Henry Dawes, who already operates takeaways at City Quay and Panmurefield Village in Dundee. Mr Dawes is confident Arbroath will prove a great success and has adopted popular elements from his Dundee enterprise, including an area where customers can see their pizzas being made. He said: “We’ve hired 20 new staff and will be hiring another 15 in the next month or so. That is 30 to 35 new jobs for Arbroath.”
In-house training is provided for all positions, including pizza makers, customer service posts and delivery drivers, with potential for progression within the group.
Mr Dawes is also seeking planning permission for another Domino’s store on a site at Dundee’s Dunsinane Industrial Estate, where the Valentines factory once stood.
