
Police are investigating an attack by a dog on a young girl in Kirriemuir.
The two-year-old was bitten by a Staffordshire-terrier type dog.
The incident was reported at 10.45am on the town’s Glamis Road.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed that officers are currently in attended the incident this morning.
She said: “We were alerted to a dog bite incident in the Glamis Road area of Kirriemuir at 10.45am on Friday 27 February.
“A two-year-old child was bitten by a Staffordshire-terrier type dog and taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with facial injuries.
“The dog was traced at the time, the owner has been identified and enquiries ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
Details of the nature of her injuries are not currently available.
