More than 100 people attended a meeting of Scone Community Council to hear Stagecoach representatives present revised proposals for the number 7 bus route.
Following the meeting, Councillor Lewis Simpson said: “I welcome the fact that Stagecoach management have recognised and addressed the problems created by the recent service cuts in the village centre.
“I share the concerns expressed by residents of the north of the village, who remain cut off from the service 7 route and will continue, with the help of the public, to campaign for a full reinstatement of the previous route.
“I will continue to consider other changes to bus services in Scone with the participation of the Perth and Kinross Council public transport unit and community representatives.
“I have also undertaken to pursue the virtual abandonment of the park-and-ride site as a separate issue.
“Stagecoach representatives were left in no doubt about the strength of feeling both on the manner and extent of the major service reductions, which were imposed on Scone without any consultation,” he added.
