Three groups have received awards totalling almost 6,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s 2014 Communities programme.
The fund was set up to build a “legacy of wellbeing” around the Glasgow Commonwealth Games by encouraging people to become involved in sport or physical activity.
Perth Strathtay Harriers were awarded 2,000 to increase opportunities in athletics training for young people and those with additional support needs.
The parent council at St Dominic’s RC Primary was given a 2,000 award to fund extra-curricular basketball and orienteering activities for pupils at the Crieff school.
Finally, Crieff Highland Gathering has received 1,968 to run traditional sports taster sessions for local school children and young adults with learning and physical disabilities.
