Bruce Fummey is top Scottish funny man

A Tayside funny man has won the accolade of Scottish Comedian of the Year.

Bruce Fummey, who runs the monthly justlaugh comedy clubs in Perth and Dundee, was announced as the winner at a ceremony in Glasgow’s ABC venue.

Bruce, from Perth, has been on the comedy circuit for several years and has performed his comedy routines all over Britain as well as in Australia and New Zealand where he is to perform again at comedy festivals in Perth, Adelaide and Dunedin.

“I’m delighted to have won the Scottish Comedian of the Year prize,” said Bruce, a former physics teacher at Brechin High School.

“It’s a great honour and, hopefully, I can continue to have a good year.”

Bruce is a regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and he’s also a noted Burns Supper speaker.
