Perth’s highly-anticipated Dragon Boat Race was abandoned after one of the boats capsized and a rower rushed to hospital.
The crowning spectacle of the Perthshire Adventure Festival ended in drama on Sunday, as crowds looked on when a boat began to take on water some 30 minutes into the annual race.
The boat, filled with nearly 20 rowers, capsized.
A rescue team from the Scottish Ambulance Service immediately sprang into action.
Specially-trained personnel launched a rescue boat to ensure all crew members were returned safely to shore along the Tay Street slipway.
A man sustained a foot injury in the incident. Paramedics loaded the man into an ambulance and took him to hospital.
