
A 36-year-old man died in an early-morning road crash in Fife today.
The incident happened on the B981 between Cardenden and Cluny at around 6.45am after a collision between a car and a van.
Police confirmed the fatality, but further details have not yet been released.
A spokesman for Fife Division said: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers were called to a fatal road collision in Fife early this morning.
“Officers attended at the B981 between Cluny and Cardenden at around 6.45am after a collision between a car and a van.
“A 36-year-old man has died as a result of the incident.
“There are no further details available at this time.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it had transported two people to hospital, but their condition was not known.
Fire crews also attended the scene. A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the incident had involved a car and a commercial pickup truck.
A closure was put in place on the B981 in both directions between the B922 junction and the Station Road junction while officers dealt with the incident.
Stagecoach bus services which travel through the area were being diverted via Dundonald.
