St Columba’s Care Home in Dundee has been praised by the Care Inspectorate.
The quality of management and leadership has been graded excellent, and the care and support, environment and staffing have been graded as very good.
The home in Logie Street gives long-term care for up to 54 people, although respite and short-term care is also provided.
The inspectors said staff continue to demonstrate very strong commitment to good teamwork and continual improvement.
The lounge areas have been upgraded and a refurbishment programme is ongoing.
One of the home’s strengths is that it allows residents to continue to enjoy hobbies and interests they had at home.
The inspection report concluded that staff have worked very hard to ensure residents and their families are given plenty of opportunities to be involved in how the home provides support and care. The latest gradings are a further improvement on those given at last year’s inspection.
