The English Premier League leaders are sending a senior scout to watch teenage sensation Ryan Gauld as Dundee United take on Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup at Tannadice tonight.
And he’ll stay on for Dundee’s Dens Park tie against Raith Rovers on Saturday, when 16-year-old Craig Wighton will be the player he’s running the rule over.
It has to be stressed in both cases it’s a matter of taking another look and adding to dossiers the Gunners have on both.
The Tele understands there have been no bids from the Londoners yet.

Like a long list of clubs from the EPL and beyond, Arsenal are now regular attenders when Dundee United play and have also been impressed by the form of 17-year-old Gauld’s fellow-Tangerine teenagers John Souttar and Andrew Robertson.
Last month, they sent a man north when the Dark Blues lost at Livingston.
It proved a fruitless exercise due to Wighton not getting off the bench that day.
