The success of St Johnstone forward Stevie May is no surprise to former Forfar and East Fife manager Jim Moffat.
Jim taught Stevie PE at Cupar’s Bell Baxter HS.
“Former referee Harry Gould ran sports tours for Bell Baxter and I recall Stevie being on a couple in France,” said Jim.
“The opposition remarked on how talented he was.
“Stevie is a great listener and is a well grounded lad. He’s always been like that.
“He also works hard and I can see him being full-time for a long time.”
Striker Rory Fallon scored a late consolation for New Zealand in their World Cup play-off defeat by Mexico.
Fallon scored the home side’s second in the 4-2 loss in Wellington.
Mexico won 9-3 on aggregate.
Dwayne Coultress and Dylan Easton scored for the U/20s in their 2-2 draw against Rangers at Dumbarton.
The result keeps the Perth side third top of the U/20 league.
