Dundonians have become an internet sensation after starring in a new online TV show in a city nightclub.
The Only Way is The Vu, inspired by popular reality TV show The Only Way is Essex, has soared in popularity since it first aired last month.
The first two episodes, featuring a selection of characters out at The Vu on the Cowgate, has been viewed more than 80,000 times.
Each episode, shown on the online Dundee Channel, follows the adventures of the nightclubbers on a Saturday night and features different Dundee characters every week.
Camera shy people going to the club do not have to feature in the series but if they agree to be filmed, they are given a sticker to say they have given permission to be on camera.
The Vu general manager Pete Harvey said he has been overwhelmed by how successful the show has already been.
He said: “The people in the club love it and have got involved in the fun. It has been trending on Twitter and was only knocked off when Andy Murray was playing! It has been brilliant.”
In real TOWIE tradition, clubbers can enjoy a bubbly reception when they arrive as part of their admission price. They can also take advantage of free beauty treatments during the evening.
Mr Harvey said the show has reached people across the country.
He said: “The numbers have gone through the roof. It has been a complete surprise at how popular it is. I have had phone calls about it from people in Inverness, Aberdeen, Wales and down south too.
“Everyone has got an opinion. It is like Marmite, people either love it or they don’t. If they love it, then thank you very much. If they don’t then come down to the club and see and then make an informed decision.
“If people don’t want to be filmed, they don’t have to be, they can just come down and enjoy it.”
