St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas felt sorry for departed Dundee team boss Barry Smith and he feels sorry for new man John Brown.
“John is just in the job and hasn’t done anything wrong but some people don’t seem to want him,” Steve said.
“As a player he was very good, very whole hearted and under-rated. And he could be a very good manager.”
Steve is expecting a tough game when the sides meet at Dens Park tomorrow, a fixture in which Saints will be minus the suspended Murray Davidson.
“We have a few tired bodies after our busy schedule. Some of my players have played a lot of football in a very short space of time and we’ll see how they are,” Steve went on.
Dave Mackay is ready to return following a spell out injured but the match is likely to come too soon for Chris Millar.
“Dave can come in but Steven Anderson has done well at right-back in his absence so that position is a tough one to call,” Steve went on.
Their win at home to St Mirren took Saints up to fourth and Steve was delighted to get it.
“Playing three games a week is asking a lot but we’ll be ready to go again tomorrow at Dens.”
