A body was discovered by a member of the public on the beach at Broughty Ferry today (writes Laura Thomas).
Police launched an investigation and cordoned off a section of Douglas Terrace between Dundas Street and Church Street (pictured).

The grim find was made around 7.40am by a dog walker. The body is of a male believed to be between 30 and 35 years of age.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Officers are currently in the process of identifying the man and informing next of kin.
