Gartland operation
Having had an X-ray on his injured shoulder, St Johnstone defender Graham Gartland had a nose operation on Monday and now he’s to have the shoulder scanned (writes James Masson).
“The op. was to help Graham with his breathing and the scan will give us a better idea of how long he’ll be out, although we think it will be three to four weeks,” said Saints boss Derek McInnes.

Stuart McCaffrey, a contender to take Gartland’s place, has been suffering a groin injury, but is likely to restart training tomorrow, although an ankle injury is sidelining Steven Milne.

Despite suffering hip and knee knocks lately, Collin Samuel is in full training.

“Collin is a tough, brave boy, who takes a lot of hits, but he is feeling better and has done all the training this week so far,” said Derek.
