Confused man being looked after
The confused 78-year-old Dundee man, who turned up at Australian Immigration at Melbourne Airport and asked to be put on a bus to Edinburgh, is being looked after by the people he was to have met off the plane.
They had been contacted as part of the investigation.

The man had his passport but no luggage and appeared to be in a disorientated state after his 13,000-mile flight.

It is understood the pensioner, believed to be from the Craigie area, got off a flight on Monday. He said he did not know how he got there and asked to be put on the bus to Edinburgh.

Immigration officials contacted the Foreign Office, who made inquiries and got in touch with Tayside Police. They made inquiries locally.

It is thought the man had travelled to Australia to visit friends or family. He flew from Edinburgh to London on Friday, getting a connecting flight to Los Angeles then on to Melbourne.
