| Thirty-year-old James Mathew, of Mortimer Street, died after suffering serious injuries in the 5.45pm accident.
He was on foot, near to the Kingway’s junction with Muirfield Road, when the accident happened.
Mr Mathew was taken to Ninewells Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries later that night.
The impact left the coach, which was carrying Eastern European students, with a smashed windscreen.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the pedestrian or coach prior to the collision.
