| Of the more than 85,000 revellers who descended on Balado over the last three days, few would disagree with Chief Superintendent Craig Suttie’s assessment.
And, as the clean-up operation got underway, many fans were already vowing to return next year.
For much of the weekend, the sun shone as bands including Blur and The Killers took to the world-famous Main Stage.
As the curtain came down on the party, Mr Suttie paid tribute to the majority of those attending.
There were 243 crimes reported on site, with 58 arrests. 13 were remanded and are expected to appear from custody today.
“Tayside Police are pleased to report that the atmosphere at T in the Park has been superb once again this year,” Mr Suttie said. “The overwhelming majority of people contributed positively to the festival’s community spirit.”
Mr Suttie said that — despite a slight increase in arrests — there had been less trouble than in previous years.
“I am happy to say that while arrests are slightly up on last year, this is down to proactive policing work in relation to drug enforcement, and the excellent support of event stewards,” he said. “Overall, offences are down on last year.
“I am satisfied there has been no serious crime at the venue, with the majority of offences relating to theft, minor assault and drugs possession.”
Mr Suttie said the friendly attitude adopted by officers had paid dividends.
“The new style of community policing in the campsite has been well received, and has undoubtedly assisted our efforts in delivering yet another successful T in the Park,” he added.
Almost three dozen revellers were taken to hospital during the festival, although no serious illnesses or injuries were reported.
A total of 659 people attended the hospital tent, while first aid teams attended to 1536 music lovers.
Only around half of those attending T in the Park were Scots, providing the festival with a truly international flavour.
Festival organiser Geoff Ellis said it had been a weekend to remember.
“It has been great to see so many people enjoying themselves, and so many bands have commented to me after coming off stage that the T in the Park audience is among the best in the world,” he said.
“This year’s festival has had a really international vibe to it, not only in terms of the world-class artists performing, but also with nationalities from throughout the globe attending.”
