Saints deal in Deuchar
St Johnstone have beaten off competition form several clubs to sign striker Kenny Deuchar on a year’s contract (writes James Masson).
The former Gretna player was a free agent after spending part of last season with Hamilton, and Partick and Raith were among the clubs thought to be keen on him.

This is Deuchar’s second spell with Saints, having previously been on loan at the Perth club during season 2007-08 when he netted 10 times in 14 appearances.

Saints boss Derek McInnes commented, “I’m delighted to get Kenny back. He made a huge impression at the club first time round and, hopefully, he will do so again.

“He has the hunger to succeed in the SPL. We have players deemed not good enough at previous clubs or who are making their way in the game. We all have a point to prove next season and Kenny is no different.”
