Alliance Trust HQ has taste of Big Apple

Stock prices on display at the new Alliance Trust building.

A flavour of New York’s Times Square has come to Dundee, with the appearance of a ticker-tape feed from the stock market on one of the city’s newest buildings (writes Bruce Robbins).
Alliance Trust’s corporate headquarters in West Marketgait, opposite Debenhams, features a moving readout of share prices updated on a “live” basis.

The digital display is, the investment company said, a statement of what Alliance Trust, one of Scotland’s biggest companies, is all about. It follows the completion of the building last month.

A spokeswoman for the company said, “Alliance Trust is an investment company and investment is at the heart of everything we do. As such, we feel the ticker-tape on our new building displaying stock prices and business news fits with our focus on investing in global stock markets.

“As a FTSE 100 financial company headquartered in Dundee for over 120 years, we are emphasising our ongoing commitment to the city, and providing an insight into the work we do day-to-day.”
