VICTORY IN MIND
A defeat for the division leaders has done nothing to change Dundee boss Jocky Scott’s perspective as he looks forward to Saturday’s visit of promotion-chasing St Johnstone to Dens Park (writes Tom Duthie).
A combination of results could still see Saints go up if they win and Jocky’s message to his own players is simple — “We don’t want anyone else partying on our pitch.”

And the manager has pledged to those home fans who turn up for the all-ticket affair, his side will be giving 100% to get three points.

“Like every game we have our pride to play for, but as a team we do not want other people celebrating on our pitch and that obviously applies extra when it is a derby game,” said Jocky.

“I want our fans to know that and I am hoping they turn up in big numbers and we can show them this is a game we’re out to win.”

The game is now all ticket and Saints fans have been allocated part of the main stand in addition to the Bob Shankly Stand.

That gives them over 4000 seats and, given the promotion issue could be extended for another week even if they win, the feeling is that number is adequate.

For Dundee, the win at Livingston means they can’t be caught by either of the bottom two. That will allow Jocky to speak to players like Colin McMenamin, Jim Lauchlan and Colin Cameron whose contracts are up this summer.

McMenamin has a new deal waiting to be signed, but it is not clear yet if Lauchlan and Cameron will be at Dens next term.

“It is something I will probably sit down and do this week and I have two or three to speak to. One thing I don’t want it detracting from though is preparations for the remaining games,” he added.

Saints started selling Dens tickets to season holders at McDiarmid today and this will go on until Wednesday (9.30-7 pm). Remaining tickets go on sale on Thursday (9.30- 7 pm) and Friday (9.30-5 pm). Two will be allocated per. person. Prices £17/£10.
